About Us
The Patient Panel has been in existence since January 2001. It acts as a sounding board for ideas to improve service delivered at the practice. The panel actively demonstrates a commitment to patient involvement in primary care and generates their own ideas for practice improvement.
Mission Statement
To provide a working partnership between patients and GPs to build on the quality of services provided within Moss Grove Surgery - Kingswinford
Aims and Objectives
- To give Doctors and Patients the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest.
- To provide a forum for patients to make suggestions about the Practice and health care needs.
- To act as a sounding board for Practice Health Care and Health Education policies proposed by the Practice Management Team.
- To develop pathways for dissemination of health information and literature to patients of the Practice.
- To act as a representative body to influence the local provision of Health & Social Care at PCT Level.
- To support the Practice in the achievement of the Quality Outcome framework (QOF) and Practice Based Commissioning.
- To maintain and developing quality standards.
- To promote and contribute to Health Awareness Evenings.
- To continue to look at ways to improve telephone access to the surgery.

Some of the Patient Panel’s Achievements:
- Award for Developments in Family Health Services at Dudley PCT's Celebrating Success Awards on 7th September 2007. The award was presented to Ed Benedict (Patient Panel Member) by Kimara Sharpe, Director of Governance and Community Engagements at Dudley PCT.
- Significant input into securing provision of an on-site pharmacy.
- Assisted in developing a health booklet for older patients.
- Implemented Health Awareness Evenings.
- Awarded a trophy in the category of “User Involvement” at the Dudley South PCT Celebrating Success Event in March 2003.
- The Moss Grove Surgery were awarded the Royal College of GPs “Quality Practice Award 2002” being the first in the West Midlands.
- Awarded the Royal College of GPs National Patient Participation Group of the Year 2004.

- Monthly input into GP partners meeting
- National annual patient questionnaire
- Organisation and involvement in regular health awareness evenings (i.e. Diabetes / Coronary Heart Disease / Teen Awareness)
